MASTERING AND TRANSFERS BETWEEN FORMATS:

Mastering:

Mastering is an often ignored, yet very important part of any recorded presentation. The following article is designed to help de-mystify the process and motivate you to include our professional mastering services in your production budget. (See rates below)

We will make your recording project sound the best it can by treating each individual track of your album with custom parametric EQing, stereo image enhancement, and compression and/or limiting. We will sequence each track, apply fades (and/or cross-fades), assign custom IDs and then burn a high quality, audio CD-R pre-master for your approval.

Cost*:
$12.00 per minute
(10 minute minimum)

Mini Mastering:

When it's only a demo and just a bit of polishing will do

We'll enhance and normalise your album by applying a generalised, parametric EQ, stereo image enhancement, and compression/limiting. We will also sequence each track, apply fades (and/or cross-fades), assign custom IDs, and then burn a high quality, audio CD-R pre-master for your approval.

Cost*:
$8.00 per minute
(10 minute minimum)

*Pricing Conditions:

All mastering projects must be submitted on CD-R, DVD-R, or hard-drive. Projects uploaded to our FTP site will incur a surchage depending on the time required to download the files.

Wherever possible, please provide us with the highest resolution data files (in aiff or wav formats), not 16 bit audio CDs.

Transfers between formats:

Audio formats come in and out of vogue but we’ve managed to keep our hands of most of them to ensure that you won’t be left with a recording you cannot access.

Whether it’s a vinyl record, audio cassette, quarter inch reel to reel tape, or micro cassette, we’ll transfer your recording onto a recordable CD so you can access it easily and preserve it indefinitely. We’ll even extract the audio from certain video formats if necessary

Please call a custom quote:

Older, fragile media (such as reel to reel tapes), and otherwise damaged LPs or cassettes will cost more to transfer than standard transfers. In all cases however, additional cost will be verified prior to proceeding after a quote has been rendered.

Most orders are turned around within a week or two. Special rushes available, as well as discounts for multiple transfers and slower turnarounds.
