Meet the personalities that make up the Studio A-Mirador Team
Katie Wreford
Owner/Manager
Katie Wreford joined the studio in 1992 shortly after earning a Master of Arts in Music Criticism at McMaster University and a Bacheor or Arts in Music at Conrad Grebel College (U of W).
As both an administrator and executive producer, Katie helps clients prepare a vision for their upcoming recording project and manage it throughout their time in the studio. She has worked in the field of sales and marketing for various arts organizations, including Opera Hamilton and the Kitchener Waterloo Symphony and has assisted in the production of several live concerts with internationally known recording artists including Il Giardino Armonico, Marc O'Connor, and Archie Fisher.
In 1997, Katie participated in the Copyright Board Hearings for Bill C32, a nationally imposed levy on blank audio media. Since that time, she has maintained a strong interest in exploring and reforming the ways in which artists are remunerated for their work, especially amidst the changes in today's music industry due to digital downloading. Currently, Katie is a volunteer programmer on 100.3 CKMS FM where she hosts a weekly, two hour radio program called Stumbling Upon Moksha.

Chris Colvin
Associate Recording Engineer
Chris has been an associate recording engineer with Studio A-Mirador since 2003 after graduating with honours from the Ontario Institute of Audio Recording Technology (OIART). Aptly described as a “musician’s engineer”, Chris is both laid back and ever-responsive to the ongoing technical challenges of a recording session. He promises fast and efficient solutions plus a willingness to let bands explore their own unique sound in the studio. A musician himself, Chris drums for the local rock band Nineteen-Eighty. His musical influences range from classic 60s and 70s rock to the hard-edge and often experimental sounds of today’s “alternative” pop.

Louis Burklen
canis amouris
Louis joined the studio in the fall of 2004. In the footsteps of his spiritual ancestor “Cardi-boy” Burklen and dearly missed "mentor" Morgan Wreford, Louis directs the canine team responsible for studio's the "warm fuzzies". His heroic heart and guileless charm ensures that everyone feels welcome and inspired to give their best regardless of how ambitious or modest their project might be.
